SENSORY ENRICHMENT THERAPY

Sensory Enrichment Therapy is a new treatment modality that merges sensory, occupational approaches and mental health counseling. It was developed from the “ground up” method of activating brain cues and manipulating sensory experiences. It is specially and individually designed for children and young adults with neurological disorders, developmental disorders, spectrum disorders, varying sensory sensitivities and or high levels of anxiety. The benefits of Sensory Enrichment Therapy are both short-term and long-term enhancements in brain functioning that lead to an improved quality of life.

THERAPY DETAILS

This Sensory Enrichment practice is uniquely tailored to fit each clients’ needs, understanding that each brain is different. Clients served will be provided with unique, direct services that will serve both their chronological age and their emotional age. This practice serves those who are struggling with making sense out of everyday situations, those who seem “out of balance,” and those who’s symptoms seem erratic. This practice will assist children, as young as 3, through young adults, with neurological, developmental, and or spectrum disorders, varying sensory sensitivities and or high levels of anxiety. The benefits of this treatment are both short-term and long-term and provide enhancements to the ability to function on a daily basis. enhancements in brain functioning that lead to an improved quality of life.

THERAPY PROCESS

Services are provided in one-hour increments, up to three times per week. Service frequency will be identified by need and intensity of symptoms, and family involvement. Enrichment Services are provided directly to the identified client, as well as to their families, in order to ensure continuity of care, proper education, and maintenance of techniques that will be provided and taught.
